Craig and Trina decided to celebrate their beautiful wedding in Matilda Bay, Perth.
This stunning location is very close to Perth’s CBD and it’s the perfect place to host an intimate wedding. There are lots of beautiful, tall trees in the area that provide plenty of shade for your guests.
Plus, celebrating your marriage close to the water means a gentle breeze will accompany you throughout the whole ceremony and reception.
Craig and Trina got in touch with me because they were looking for a wedding photographer.
After meeting them for a drink in Scarborough, they mentioned how uncomfortable they had always felt being in front of the camera. Well, they are not the only ones I can guarantee you that!
This was especially true for Craig, which had a terrible experience with his previous wedding photos. They relaxed as soon as I explained the very chill and unposed way I like to have pictures taken during their wedding.
We also arranged an engagement session (which I call a “practice session). This way, they could practice their poses and feel more at ease while taking pictures.
And you should have seen them after their engagement session! Craig and Trina just put their best smile on and enjoyed the day. It’s incredible how a little practice goes a long way.
The ceremony
The couple decided to celebrate their wedding in Matilda Bay in the afternoon, which spared all the guests from the very harsh summer heat.
Instead, everyone enjoyed the beautiful ceremony held by the amazing Liz Haye which reminded us how a wedding is, at the end of the day, all about love and trust. After the ceremony, the couple spent the afternoon having a few drinks while chatting with all their guests.
Being so close to the river meant we could all watch the colours of the sky changing while reflecting in the water. Some black swans kept coming close to the riverbank, almost checking on us.
A truly stunning experience.
Craig and Trina celebrated their love and union surrounded by their closest friends and family.
Due to the current restrictions, many guests could not attend. However, they were able to follow the ceremony via a live stream.
Plus, they surprised the newlyweds with a series of beautiful video messages displayed in front of everyone.
Needless to say, Craig and Trina were deeply touched by this kind and unexpected gift.
After a few emotional speeches and cutting the cake, Craig and (especially) Trina got wild on the dance floor till late.
